about

The art that I create is a reflection of the person that I have become, the artist that I have evolved into. Being influenced by the everyday experiences we share and the aftermath they have towards us heavily influence’s the body of work that I create.

Recently finishing a year long Artist in Residence at Medalta in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Chloe is now settled in Edmonton, Alberta. She is an AU Arts Graduate (formerly known as the Alberta College of Art + Design) graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ceramics in 2016. From then, Chloe has worked out of a variety of local ceramic studios in Calgary, AB. Fairview Studios, as well as Clay Creations. Chloe has always had a way of working with her hands and even at a young age created jewellery and fine textiles.

Most days you can find her at her now new studio in Edmonton working on orders and prepping for local markets or exploring the city she now calls home.

Chloe Lydia works in small batches using a variety of porcelain clay bodies. The pieces often feature repetitive pattern and detailing that produces a one of a kind element. There is a subtle mix of texture, atmosphere, wheel thrown vessels and an organic touch of hand-building.
